Hampton Roads Quality Management Communities

The Community of Practice vision is to drive process improvement into organizations throughout our region.  While the focus is on the methods of LEAN and Six Sigma, we must clearly maintain goals of productivity improvement.  We don’t want a new cult; we want to be more competitive.

 Part of the agenda toward this end is to collect Best Practices and deploy lessons learned from them throughout our Community.  There needs to be a tool we can use to capture the essence of a Best Practice as it is implemented and then one to measure its value over time.  And there needs to be an archive that conveniently makes the items available over time and to a wide audience.

 To achieve this objective we’ll set up the CoP LSS Best Practice Library with the following features:

 ·      Proactive, with feedback loops

·      Facilitated database

·      Common Structure

o       Infrastructure

o       Strategy/Implementation

o       ROI/Accounting
